There has to be an easier way to do this.

That's usually how the conversation starts. We build the easier way.

Custom AI assistants, automated workflows, and small internal tools, built around how your business already works — not the other way around.

Manual work becoming automatic Six scattered sources of manual work — email, voicemail, web form, spreadsheet, calendar, sticky note — tangled together in crossing gray lines that resolve into one clean orange line ending at a node labeled automatic. The starting point

Sound familiar?

"We spend too much time manually responding to the same customer questions."

— A business owner

"Someone has to copy information from emails into our system every day."

— An office manager

"We lose potential customers because we can't respond to every lead quickly."

— A contractor

"Scheduling appointments and sending reminders takes too much time."

— A practice manager

"Our employees have to manually organize incoming requests."

— A service company owner

"We constantly have to enter the same information into different systems."

— A law office administrator

"I wish this part of our business could just happen automatically."

That sentence is where the name came from.

What we build

Four kinds of things, shaped to fit you

AI assistants

They answer the routine questions your customers and staff ask every day — accurately, in your voice, at any hour.

Automated workflows

Information gets where it needs to go without anyone copying, pasting, or retyping it.

Small internal applications

Purpose-built tools for the jobs your spreadsheets are quietly failing at.

Customer-facing tools

Booking, intake, and follow-up — the parts your customers touch, made faster and harder to drop.

  • New inquiry arrives
  • Information organized
  • Customer gets a reply
  • Appointment booked
  • Records updated
  • Right person notified

That's one example. Your bottleneck is probably something else entirely — that's fine.

How it works

Four steps, in order

  1. We learn how you work.

You don't need to understand AI, automation, or software. We ask four questions: What takes too much time? What do you repeatedly do by hand? Where does work pile up? What do you wish was easier?

  2. We design and build it.

A solution shaped around your actual process, not a template you have to adapt to.

  3. We show you and put it in place.

You see it working before it goes live.

  4. We adjust and support it.

Real feedback changes real things. We stay available after launch.

Already have an idea for something you want built? Bring us that instead.

Where we stand

Our position on AI and people

Implementing AI doesn't have to mean replacing people. If someone on your team spends hours a week copying information, organizing requests, sending the same message, updating records, or booking appointments, we want to automate the tedious part — so that person can do the work that actually needs them.

Technology should support the people running a business, not get in the way.

About

Who's behind this?

I started ShouldBeAutomatic to help businesses get rid of tedious, repetitive work — by building custom technology that makes everyday operations simpler.

My background is in agentic engineering: I've built AI-powered cybersecurity tools and specialized dashboards for oncologists. Different fields, same job — practical software and AI systems that solve real problems for the people using them.

Large companies have entire technology departments for this. Most businesses don't, and they end up doing by hand what software could have handled years ago. I think that gap is worth closing, and closing it for a small business doesn't actually cost what people assume it does.

If something in your business feels harder than it should be, I'd like to hear about it.
